Catechoyl-Dipeptides as Leucine Aminopeptidase Inhibitors
Compounds consisting of the catechol group con nected to an amino acid or a small peptide only re cently have been the subject of few papers concern ing their structure-activity relationship. A number of 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid amides such as polyamine derivatives: parabactin [1 ], agrobactin [2], vibriobactin [3], or amino acid derivatives: glycine [4], lysine [5], serine [6 ], and threon...
متن کاملDesign and synthesis of all diastereomers of cyclic pseudo-dipeptides as mimics of cyclic CXCR4 pentapeptide antagonists.
The four diastereomers of 2,5-bis[(3-guanidino)propyl]-1-[3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propionyl]-7-(2-naphthylacetyl)-1,4,7-triazacycloundec-9-en-3-one (-) and of 2,5-bis[(3-guanidino)propyl]-1-(4-hydroxyphenylacetyl)-7-(2-naphthylacetyl)-1,4,7-triazacycloundec-9-en-3-one (-) were synthesized by a divergent methodology from l- and D-glutamic acids. The 11-membered ring core was made by ring closing meta...
متن کاملSynthesis and antimalarial evaluation of cyclic beta-amino acid-containing dipeptides.
This paper describes an efficient synthesis and the antiparasitic evaluation of cyclic beta-amino acid-containing dipeptides 3.1-3.6 and 4.1-4.5. The antimalarial properties of all these dipeptides have been evaluated in vitro against Plasmodium falciparum and in vivo against Plasmodium berghai. Compounds 4.4 and 4.5 have been found to be very effective in this respect, with IC50 values of 3.87...
متن کاملThe tRNA-Dependent Biosynthesis of Modified Cyclic Dipeptides
In recent years it has become apparent that aminoacyl-tRNAs are not only crucial components involved in protein biosynthesis, but are also used as substrates and amino acid donors in a variety of other important cellular processes, ranging from bacterial cell wall biosynthesis and lipid modification to protein turnover and secondary metabolite assembly. In this review, we focus on tRNA-dependen...
متن کاملRational and combinatorial tailoring of bioactive cyclic dipeptides
Modified cyclic dipeptides represent a diverse family of microbial secondary metabolites. They display a broad variety of biological and pharmacological activities and have long been recognized as privileged structures with the ability to bind to a wide range of receptors. This is due to their conformationally constrained 2, 5-diketopiperazine (DKP) scaffold and the diverse set of DKP tailoring...
